Clearwater Executive Airport
Background
Clearwater Executive Airport is a public-use general aviation airport operated as part of the City of Clearwater, Florida. The airport serves private and charter aviation, flight training, and aircraft maintenance operations. This project came through my work at FlyUSA, which was the primary fixed-base operator (FBO) at the airport.
The Rebrand
I led the full rebrand of the airport from concept through public approval. This wasn't a simple logo swap — it was a comprehensive identity overhaul for a municipal facility, which meant navigating public processes, stakeholder input, and commission review.
I personally designed the logo that was ultimately approved by the public commission. The design needed to serve a long-term vision: something professional enough for a public airport that also resonated with the private aviation community it served. It had to work across signage, print, digital, and branded merchandise.
Brand Guidelines
Beyond the logo, I established a complete brand guidelines package covering color palettes, typography, logo usage rules, imagery standards, and tone of voice. The goal was to give the airport a consistent, professional identity that could be maintained long after the initial rebrand was complete.
Website
I built the Clearwater Executive Airport website from scratch, designed to serve both current airport users and prospective visitors. The site provided essential information about the facility, services, fuel pricing, and tenant operations, while positioning the airport as a professional and accessible gateway to the Tampa Bay area.
