In July, YouTube made history again. Nielsen reported that YouTube captured 13.4% of all TV and streaming viewership in the U.S. That means nearly one out of every seven minutes Americans spent watching television or streaming was on YouTube. For the sixth month in a row, YouTube wasn’t just in the race—it was leading it.

Streaming now accounts for nearly half of all TV time. Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon—they’re all in the mix. But YouTube stands above them because it combines what people love about television with the accessibility of the open internet. Billions of viewers are watching, and unlike subscription services, YouTube isn’t hiding behind a paywall.

Why This Record Matters

YouTube’s dominance isn’t an accident. It’s the result of three powerful shifts:

  • People are watching YouTube on TV screens. It’s no longer just a mobile app. The YouTube TV app is in living rooms everywhere, and hours watched on big screens keep climbing.
  • Creators fuel the platform. Unlike traditional streaming services, YouTube’s library is powered by millions of creators producing content in every niche imaginable.
  • Discovery is unmatched. YouTube’s algorithm doesn’t just reward the big players. A small business, with the right strategy, can break through and sit alongside global brands.

The Business Opportunity Hiding in Plain Sight

Most small businesses are still sleeping on YouTube. They’ll put money into social ads, dabble on Instagram, maybe run a TikTok—but they don’t think of YouTube as their channel. That’s a mistake.

Here’s the reality:

  • YouTube is television now.
  • It’s free to publish.
  • The audience is already there, watching billions of hours every day.

If you’re a small business owner, that should make you sit up straight. Your customers are watching YouTube more than traditional TV, and they’re doing it on the same screens where TV ads used to dominate.

Where I Come In

I’ve spent years testing what works on YouTube—formats, titles, thumbnails, upload cadence, and content style. I’ve learned how to create videos that don’t just get views but generate clicks, traffic, and leads.

I’m bullish on YouTube because very few small businesses are using it the right way. The ones that do unlock a huge competitive advantage. It’s attention at scale—without the price tag of TV ads or the noise of overcrowded social feeds.

My strategies are proven to turn YouTube from “just another platform” into a lead-generation engine. If you want eyes on your business, if you want clicks that actually turn into customers, YouTube is where the future lives—and I can show you how to own your piece of it.
